At Izzi’s Gym, binders of shiny cards sit beside shelves of model kits and collectibles, the kind you can actually score without paying crazy prices online. Two friendly brothers run the shop, and their dogs happily make the rounds like unofficial greeters.

💼 “Stroll Sioux Falls” Hosts October Hiring Events

The Gist: Looking for a new job? “Stroll Sioux Falls” is teaming up with local employers for a series of walk-in hiring events this month. A&B Business Solutions kicks things off on Oct. 9, followed by Landscape Garden Center on Oct. 16 and Sanford Health on Oct. 23. Each session runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Job Service office.

Why It Matters: It’s a chance for jobseekers to meet employers face-to-face and explore local career opportunities without an appointment. Read more here.

🚧 Sioux Falls Road Work Rolls On Through October

The Gist: The city says several construction projects will keep orange cones out across Sioux Falls this month. Crews are milling, paving, and grading on streets including 26th, Marion, Sycamore, and Rice, as well as stretches of Veterans and Arrowhead Parkway. Some roads will see full closures while others will have lane restrictions, with most projects aiming to wrap before winter.

Why it matters: Drivers can expect detours and slowdowns, but the upgrades mean smoother roads, safer sidewalks, and new bike lanes ahead. Read more here.

A snuggler by heart, this adult neutered boy has overcome pneumonia and heartworm treatment and now shines with charm, curiosity, and silliness. Ray adores laps, cuddles, and following his people everywhere.

He does well with dogs, cats, and kids, though he’s still learning to share space and attention. His adoption fee is $300.
