🎄 Local Grinch Alert: Siouxville’s Greenest New Neighbor
The Gist: Just in time for the holidays, the Siouxville Grinch has officially settled into Sioux Falls. Portrayed by Martin Dalcourt, a Grinch performer with more than 30 years of experience, this playful troublemaker made his local debut at the Parade of Lights and is already popping up around town. From daycare drop-ins to cozy café visits, he’s bringing a wink of Whoville mischief wherever he goes.
Why It Matters: It’s a cheerful, homegrown dose of holiday fun that adds a little sparkle to everyday errands. Catch him at Falls Park on December 20, with more appearances posted online.
🧡 Holiday Help at the Hy-Vee Lot
The Gist: The Hy-Vee parking lot felt a little warmer this week as employees and local first responders handed out 300 free hams to Sioux Falls families. Part of Hormel and Hy-Vee’s Hams for the Holidays program, each car received one ham while supplies lasted. Now in its eighth year, the tradition brings simple, meaningful support right when it’s needed most.
Why It Matters: A holiday ham can ease grocery bills and help families gather around the table with less stress. Thousands more hams are being shared at Hy-Vee locations across the region this season.
Cooler days are here and Chewbacca is ready to make your home warmer.
This three year old male tabby is a curious, playful companion who loves exploring his surroundings and soaking up every pet he can get.
After a good play session, he happily slows down for cuddles. Chewbacca does great with kids and is best suited for a home without dogs. He is available through CatTitude Cat Cafe. Adoption fee applies.
