This week, Sioux Falls feels like it’s showing off a little. The Washington Pavilion is hosting a juried art showcase of South Dakota’s own, Levitt at the Falls will be buzzing with families for All My Relatives Festival, and sports fans can be courtside for the first volleyball serves of the season.

🎃 Fall Festivals and Pumpkin Picking Kick Off Soon

The Gist: Cooler days are on the horizon, and Sioux Falls’ favorite fall spots are getting ready to welcome visitors. Country Apple Orchard opens August 27, with its first festival August 29. Mazing Acres in Yankton starts September 13, with Pumpkin Fest weekends through late October. Riverview Christmas Tree Farm’s Pumpkin Festival runs September 27–October 19, and Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park corn maze opens in late September. Falls Park Farmer’s Market is already open Saturdays.

🐾 Cattitude Café Celebrates 500th Cat Adoption

The Gist: The cozy Cattitude Café in downtown Sioux Falls just reached a huge milestone: its 500th cat adoption since opening in 2023. Once on the brink of closing, the café has become a joyful hub where coffee and cuddles lead to forever homes for shelter cats, thanks to its partnership with the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society.
