🌳 Neighbors Rally After Storm

The Gist: After strong winds swept through Sioux Falls, locals jumped into cleanup mode: clearing downed trees, broken fences, and scattered debris. Among them was Adrian Gomez, a contractor who’s been helping residents, often at little or no charge. One woman even teared up with gratitude.
Why It Matters: In tough weather, it’s clear: we look out for one another.
What’s Next: The city has two free tree branch drop-off sites open through August 17 at Chambers Street and Lyon Boulevard (no root balls or bagged leaves allowed). Read more here.
🥚 Fresh Eggs & Farm Stays

The Gist: Just 15 minutes from downtown Sioux Falls, Stephanie Peterson’s “Fruit of the Coop” blends local food, fresh air, and a dose of rural charm. Her 150 free-range chickens supply eggs to area restaurants, but that’s just part of it: her farm also hosts glamping, tent camping, private hiking trails, and events like flower workshops and hot-air balloon rides.
Why it matters: It’s a local getaway that supports South Dakota-grown food and gives visitors a hands-on taste of farm life. Check bookings for glamping or events at Fruit of the Coop or via HipCamp. Read more here.
