🏅 Sioux Falls Girl Named a Hero at Just 9 Years Old

The Gist: Sioux Falls Fire Rescue honored 9-year-old Avery Antonen with the Citizen Hero Award after she saved a toddler from drowning at a neighborhood pool this summer. Avery calmly pulled the 2-year-old from the water and called for help until adults and first responders arrived. The recognition took place at Harrisburg’s Adventure Elementary, where classmates and firefighters celebrated her courage.

Hawthorne is a 1-year-old Terrier mix with a zest for life and plenty of personality!

At 47 pounds, this energetic, playful, but sensitive boy loves to zoom around. He shows off his moves and then settles into cozy cuddles when the fun winds down. He already knows some basic skills, though he may pull a little on leash, and would do best in a home with kids 9 and up.
