🐯 Mila the Tiger Roars into Great Plains Zoo!
The Gist: A two-year-old Amur tiger named Mila has officially stepped into her public exhibit at the Great Plains Zoo.
She arrived from Cleveland Metroparks Zoo earlier this fall and has spent time behind the scenes bonding with keepers and a tiger neighbor named Zuzaan.
Why It Matters: New animal arrivals are a big deal for the zoo and a fun reason for local families to plan a visit this winter.
🎄 Free Christmas Tree Recycling Opens Friday
The Gist: Sioux Falls is opening two free Christmas tree drop sites starting Friday, December 26.
Residents of Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, and Turner Counties can recycle real trees at no cost, as long as all lights, decorations, and stands are removed.
Why It Matters: It is an easy, eco-friendly way for locals to clean up after the holidays while keeping trees out of the landfill.
Meet Bigby, a handsome adult Dachshund with a gentle soul.
He has a penchant for cozy sweaters! This 6-year-old, 11-pound sweetheart is a bit shy and needs a patient, loving home to help him blossom.
Despite his initial timidity, Bigby's sweet demeanor shines through. He's a recent breeder release who's working on his house-training and recall, so a home with a fenced yard is required. His adoption fee is $350 plus tax.
