🎿 The Hill Where Memories Stick

Just east of town, Great Bear Ski Valley feels like a little mountain getaway without leaving Sioux Falls. In the chill months, the slopes buzz with families learning to ski or snowboard.

🫎 A Moose Among Cows? Only in South Dakota

The Gist: Folks across the state are chuckling over a new viral video showing a moose calmly grazing alongside a herd of cattle somewhere in central South Dakota. The drone footage, captured by Dakota Film Co., has swept the internet with over a million views and for good reason. The big traveler looks right at home, towering gently above his curious new pasture mates.

🧤 The Banquet Urgently Seeking Men’s Gloves

The Gist: As cold weather settles in, The Banquet is out of men’s gloves and urgently needs community help. The nonprofit says the shortage has forced them to turn people away, with warm gear now critical for those facing winter without shelter. Donations of new or gently used men’s gloves or mittens (especially waterproof and insulated ones) are most needed, along with hand warmers.

She proves that black and white never goes out of style! Born in May 2025, this lively little girl loves chasing toy mice, sprinting through tunnels, and soaking up the sun between zoomie sessions.

Francine’s great with kids and other cats and would love a home with a feline friend. Her adoption fee includes current shots and a microchip.
