🍷 Date Night Done Right

431 N Phillips Ave, Sioux Falls, SD

A downtown gem where comfort meets class, Chef Lance’s on Phillips is the kind of spot that makes any night feel like a celebration.

Expect elevated comfort food: think lobster-stuffed Beef Wellington, scallop linguini, and the city’s award-winning “Cuban Burger”, all served in a warm, softly lit space where every detail feels intentional.

Perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, or any evening worth savoring (champagne toast included). Learn more here.

🕯️ Smells Like Fall, Feels Like Home

124 S Phillips Ave, Sioux Falls, SD

We know you need your candles this season, so here’s your spot: MatchBox Candle Co. Every candle is hand-poured with care, and the scents (like Settler’s Cabin and Spiked Apple Cider) feel like wrapping up in your favorite blanket.

The shop itself is full of local charm, with artisan goods and friendly faces. Don’t skip their candle-making workshop; it’s as cozy as the candles themselves. Learn more here.

🧥 Kids Bundle Up Thanks to Big-Hearted Neighbors

The Gist: What started years ago with one generous little boy has grown into a beloved Sioux Falls tradition. Harvest Church’s Kidz-n-Coats event handed out more than 1,500 brand-new coats last weekend, its biggest giveaway yet. Families lined up early, and volunteers turned the church into a pop-up coat shop where kids could choose colors and styles that made them smile.

Why it matters: It’s more than just coats, it’s community warmth, wrapping local kids in care as winter settles in. Read more here.

🚧 Road Work Continues Around Sioux Falls

The Gist: Through the coming week, several city projects will still affect travel. Lane closures remain on Veterans Parkway, 41st Street, 26th Street, and Bahnson Avenue as crews finish concrete and sidewalk repairs. Fairfax Avenue also stays closed between Seventh and Eighth streets for sewer work, and the Westside Rec Center’s east parking lot remains closed for improvements.

Why It Matters: Drivers should allow extra time and slow down in work zones. Most projects are expected to wrap up by late October. Read more here.
